Post # 248 -- Day #7 -- Walk With Christ

Dear Family and Friends

Today my appointment with my oncologist confirmed that the cancer is growing in my pelvis on the right side, which was/is the reason for all the pain in my hip. the doctor said that the cancer moved to the right side of the flat part of my pelvic bone.

This cancer cannot be removed like the breast could be removed.
The doctor said all of the tests have come back good. He is waiting on the biopsy that they did yesterday. I guess we will find out what those results are next week.

He said there were no fractures. He said that the ovaries looked good. He said all of the tests looked good. Let me see, I have had 2 MRI’s, a CT scan, An internal ultrasound, an external ultrasound, a mammogram, a whole battery of lab work, an echo and now this biopsy. I've been in the radiology department so much lately if I was collecting points I would have quite a few:)

My daughter asked me if the doctor told me what the prognosis is. I told her that I don't ask about things like that. I like to look at the bright side of things and usually I can find it. Sometimes I may have to look a little bit to find it but if I look I have always found it. I believe it is so very important to keep my hope alive.

I am grateful for every day that I am allowed to remain here on this earth and help and teach my students. To spend time with my family and friends. And I am grateful that I can share these things with you and your family members and friends and all of our cyber friends out there in cyberspace:)

Well. I guess I have been rambling enough for today. I just wants to share my day with you and i also want each of you to know that the Lord was with me during those tests. It was through His strength that i could manage. And He helped me to keep my anxiety at the lowest level to get me through all of those tests back to back. Today we are on Day 7 in the  Walk With Christ series.  I hope you all enjoy this day with Christ:)

JOHN 11:1-46

House of Lazarus, Bethany

THE SETTING
When Jesus Christ arrived at Bethany, His friend Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, had already passed away and had been in the tomb for four days, Jesus was about to perform His greatest miracle yet by raising their brother from the dead. But before He did that, Jesus took the time to weep with them and acknowledge their pain.

THE INVITATION
Sometimes all we can do to help someone is let them know we love them and are there for them. Please take some time in the next two days to reach out to someone you know who is struggling with loss, sickness, or other difficulties, so they know they're not alone.

House of Lazarus, Bethany
John 11:1–46
When Jesus Christ received word that his friend, Lazarus was gravely ill in the town of Bethany, a few miles outside of Jerusalem, he said to his disciples, “Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.” They did not understand at the time that their friend would die, and by the time they arrived in Bethany, they found Lazarus had “lain in the grave four days already.” They arrived to find the sisters of Lazarus—Mary and Martha—heartbroken. They had hoped Jesus would arrive in time to heal their brother. They didn’t know Jesus was about to perform His greatest miracle yet by raising their brother from the dead. But before He did that, Jesus took the time to weep with them and acknowledge their pain.

The Invitation

Ease another's burden
Sometimes all we can do to help someone is let them know we love them and are there for them. Please take some time in the next two days to reach out to someone you know who is struggling with loss, sickness, or other difficulties, so they know they’re not alone.

When my daughter lost her unborn child all I could do was offer my love and support and be there for her whenever she wanted or needed to talk. Often times people just need to know that you care enough to be there for them, whether it is a friend of family or friend of a family member that you are barely acquainted with. Or a parent of your student who is going through a rough time. I believe if we love one another as Jesus loves us then we are doing it right. No there is no -pressure here. He only wants us to do the best that we can. We can only judge ourselves against ourselves. So I challenge each one of you to look inside of yourselves and answer this question: Am I doing the best that I can in trying to love others as Jesus would do if He were here???

Questions to Ponder
Why do you think Jesus wept with Mary and Martha?
Who do you know who is going through a difficult time in their lives?
What could you say to them to let them know you’re there for them?

Walk after the Holy Order of God

After you have pondered on and answered the above questions. Here are some scriptures about comfort that you and your family members and friends should read together.

Scriptures about comfort
Jesus is the resurrection and the life
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
—JOHN 11:25–26

Our afflictions are temporary
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
2 CORINTHIANS 4:17–18

God comforts those who mourn
"Blessed are they who mourn; for they shall be comforted."
MATTHEW 5:4

The following are some wonderful videos that you can share with your family members and friends. You may wonder why I always write to share with your family members and friends. The reason for this is that not all families are traditional families. I mean that in our home for instance we have three generations all living together. Also because I am hoping that you will share with those family members who do not live with you. Everyone truly needs the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives:)

Lazarus Is Raised from the Dead
Jesus testifies that He is the Resurrection and the Life. He raises Lazarus from the dead that His disciples may believe.

This is Church: The Bruno Family
In the Bible, God promises “beauty for ashes.” For the Bruno family, beauty came in the form of flowers, bark chips, and sod as church members helped them through their daughter’s fight with cancer.

I believe a lot of our journey in our Walk With Christ is our journey through His word, to learn how His like was and just how we can each emulate His life and we are taught about it through the scriptures. Remember the scriptures are here for our profit and learning and if you choose not to learn of Christ then you will choose those consequences

I have another challenge for each one of you: think of one thing that you are going to do this week that will show your Christ-like love towards another person. Outside of your family if possible. Let's get outside of our comfort zones and truly be helpful to someone. Go ahead, it’s okay to go out of your way to be kind to someone:)

I realize that we don't ordinarily raise people from the dead as Jesus did for His friend Lazarus, but I am sure that we all can do something small only for the benefit of helping someone along their day. How many of you have been stranded along side of a road or highway and no one would stop and help you out? I sure have and one time I was 7 months pregnant and 3 police cars drove right by me on a major highway

You and your family members and friends can be the angels the Lord sends to help someone in need. It doesn’t need to be something big, you can call or text a friend or family member who you haven’t talked with in a while. If you use Facebook or any of those other Media sites you can connect with someone with an uplifting thought or quote you know or find on the internet:)

Here we are at the end of our lesson and today’s post. I hope that you and your family members and friends have enjoyed the lesson today and that you have learned something new. I pray that you will accept my challenges to you and have some fun with it, get creative

Remember who you are!!!  I believe this is so important that I tell it to you and your family members and friends all the time. You Are A Child of God!!! It doesn't matter what you age is, you belong to His family!! He is the Father of your Spirits. I believe that we cannot survive without our spirits, our bodies would be what they are now.

Remember to continue to study with me from the Book of Mormon!! I encourage you each week to continue studying with me, but it is so important that you and your family members and friends are reading and studying from this sacred book every day on your own individually as well as studying together with your family. If you read from this sacred book every day without with prayer and a humble heart [ if you miss a day or two be sure to begin again, don’t ever give up] I am positive you will notice many differences in your home and within your family. If you just read and believe what these two prophets have [promised us:

President Gordon B. Hinckley:
"Brothers and sisters, without reservation I promise you that if you will prayerfully read the Book of Mormon, regardless of how many times you previously have read it, there will come into your hearts an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord.  There will come a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to his commandments, and there will come a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God."
("The Power of the Book of Mormon", Ensign, June, 1988, p. 6)

President Ezra Taft Benson
"Our beloved brother, President Marion G. Romney, who celebrated his eighty-ninth birthday last month and who knows of himself of the power that resides in this book, testified of the blessings that can come into the lives of those who will read and study the Book of Mormon. He said:

10 LDS Quotes on God's Love for Valentine's Day | LDS Daily

'I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness' (Ensign, May 1980, p. 67).

"These promises—increased love and harmony in the home, greater respect between parent and child, increased spirituality and righteousness—are not idle promises, but exactly what the Prophet Joseph Smith meant when he said the Book of Mormon will help us draw nearer to God."
"The Book of Mormon - Keystone of our Religion" - President Benson - Oct. 1986 Gen. Conf.

If you don’t believe it then you must at least give it a try before you make your final decision. You must remember though that Satan will do everything in his power to deter you and keep you from doing this, that is what he did with my family and my husband got frustrated. And now 20 years later I am trying to pass on some wisdom to my grandchildren.

The 7-Day Christian: How Living Your Beliefs Every Day Can Change ...

Remember to say your prayers every day at least morning and night. I believe that there is great power in our prayers. Our Heavenly Father is only a prayer away.  He wants to hear from us, He wants us to come to Him in everything in our lives no matter how small or how large:) I know that i need to get better at sharing the little things as well as the major things, but then, I am still a work in progress as I am sure, so are you.   Until my next post, keep safe, and love one another!!!!
