Post # 231 -- Walk With Jesus: Day Three --
Samaria

Dear Family and Friends

It has been a very busy time for me these past few weeks.
I am sorry that I have been a little slow with my posts. I hope
that you have not given up on my sharing these Walk With
Jesus series or the  Counsel; from the Twelve series. I will
still be sharing them now that I am not under so much
pressure to get certain things done -- at least for a
little while:)

So for today’s post I will be sharing with each one of you
Day 3 of the Walk with Christ series. This post finds us
in Samaria, as we read in John 4:3-30.
New Testament - Lesson 27

JOHN 4:3-30
3 He left Judæa, and departed again into Galilee.
4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar,
near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son aJoseph.
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied
with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the
sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith
unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou,
being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?
for the Jews have no dealings with the aSamaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the agift
of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou
wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw
with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that
living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well,
and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this
water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall
never athirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a
well of water bspringing up into ceverlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst
not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said
unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is
not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a
20 Our fathers worshipped in athis mountain; and ye say, that
in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh,
when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem,
worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye aknow not what: we know what we worship:
for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers
shall aworship the Father in spirit and in btruth: for the Father
seeketh such to worship him.
24 aGod is a bSpirit: and they that worship him must worship him
in spirit and in ctruth.
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that aMessias cometh, which
is called Christ: when he is come, he will btell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, aI that speak unto thee am he.
27 ¶ And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked
with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why
talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the
city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not
this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

THE SETTING
While traveling through Samaria, Jesus Christ asked a woman to
draw water for Him from a well. Jesus then shared His divine
message with the woman. He was not deterred by the fact that the
woman had made some mistakes in her life. Jesus saw her for who
she could become.

THE INVITATION
Take some time to write down some goals for the person you want
to be. And while you do it, remember that Jesus Christ can help us
overcome the things in our past that may be holding us back.

Samaria, Well of Living Water

John 4:3–30
The land of Samaria was a region between Jerusalem and Galilee. While traveling
through the area, Jesus Christ stopped at a well where He sat down to rest. When a
local woman came to draw water, Jesus asked her to draw water for Him. She was
shocked by His request, since Jews typically avoided interactions with Samarians.
But that didn’t stop Jesus from reaching out in love and compassion to share His
divine message with her. The woman had made some mistakes in her life that she
perhaps thought made her unworthy, but Jesus tenderly comforted her as he
explained his identity as the Messiah she sought and invited her to worship God in
“spirit and in truth.” He saw her for who she could become, just like He sees us.

The Invitation

Become a better you
We’ve all made mistakes. But just like the woman at the well,
the love and mercy of Jesus Christ is bigger than our mistakes.
Take time to write down some goals for the person you want to
be. And while you do it, remember that Jesus Christ can help
us overcome the things in our past that may be holding us back,
especially when we pray for help and seek to right our wrongs.
Questions to Ponder
What are some mistakes you’ve made that you wish you
could let go?
What do you need to do to make things right?
How can Jesus Christ give you the strength to change?

I hope each one of you have enjoyed

studying Day Three of the Walk With

Christ series. I believe the more we study

this series, the closer we each come to feel

the Savior and our Heavenly Father near

to us. Our Heavenly Father and His Son

Jesus Christ both want each of us

to come unto them.

To learn about our Heavenly Father and Jesus

Christ, to know Them we must study the

scriptures. We can also read and study

the talks of our living prophets, seers and

revelators. We are strengthened through

our prayers to our Heavenly Father in

the name of Jesus Christ, as we pray before,

during, and after our study each day.
